Q: WHAT IS the MERIDIEM music marathon?

The Meridiem Music Marathon summer-long effort that culminates in a 24-hour concert marathon. In anticipation of the big finale marathon, we host hands-on service opportunities with our beneficiary, interactive music performances, field trips, a gala, and many more events.


Q: WHERE IS THE MERIDIEM MUSIC MARATHON?

The Meridiem Music Marathon is in Austin, TX at Central Market on N. Lamar. We will be located at the outdoor patio area next to Central Park and the children’s playground. The exact address is: 4001 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78756


q: when is the meridiem music marathon?

The Meridiem Music Marathon begins on Saturday, August 3 from 9AM - 9PM and restarts on Sunday, August 4 at 9AM - 9PM.


q: how long is the meridiem music marathon?

The Meridiem Music Marathon is a 24-hour event. The 24 hours are split into 12-hour blocks. We will have different themes for different hours: Blooming Buds, Family Tunes, Music of the World, and Sunset Serenades. There will be a variety of performers, guest speakers, games, activities, and music genres.


q: how many people participate in the meridiem music marathon?

This will vary based on the duration of people’s performances. We approximate over 200 performers and 100 volunteers.


q: is the meridiem music marathon only the 24-hour concert marathon?

NO! We have events throughout the month of July in order to build long-term relationships with our beneficiary. We host a variety of opportunities such as hands-on service opportunities, interactive music performances, field trips, a gala, and many more, making this a summer-long effort. In order to build community within Austin and beyond, Meridiem plans and leads a multitude of events that can be found on our events page or our social media outlets.


q: i’m participating in the meridiem music marathon. do i need to fundraise or get a sponsor to join?

We’re so excited that you’re joining us for Meridiem! In order to make Meridiem an all inclusive, accessible experience, we do not have fundraising/sponsorship requirements like other marathons or events. However, we do reward individuals and/or groups who make individual efforts to fundraise by providing perks and exclusive benefits for the actual event. Find more information here.


q: HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE OTHER EVENTS THAT AREN’T THE MUSIC MARATHON?

Q: meridiem sounds awesome, but I’m not a musician. can I still be involved?

Yes, of course! We’re constantly looking for volunteers to help with our other events, including hands-on service opportunities, a gala, field trips, etc. Additionally, we need volunteers and photographers to help with the operations and additional tasks of the music marathon. Q: i’m an amateur musician. i’ve never played in front of an audience before. can i still perform?

Of course, we’re happy to have you! We have specific blocks for different performance levels, so please indicate on the performance application that you have never played in front of an audience before. We recommend registering for the Blooming Buds slot.


Q: my SON/daughter started [instrument] A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. CAN WE SIGN UP?

Yes, of course! Your son/daughter is still eligible to sign up. We have specific blocks for different performance levels, so please indicate on the performance application that your son/daughter is a beginner. We recommend registering for the Blooming Buds slot.
